Extra blog January
The Junior Varsity boys basketball team had a game but it was raining really hard. There was a leek in roof of the gym so the refs deemed it unsafe for there to be an official CIF game. They ended up making the game a little half court scrimmage and we were watching for different things that could possibly cause injury to either teams athletes. Brittany told me that a situation like this is a type of prevention of injury, she said the blame was partially on her because she should have checked the court before game time. She explained that something like this would normally be the Athletic trainers job, to inspect the field or gym for potential dangers.

Blog 13: Lesson 2 Reflection
1.What are you most proud of in your Lesson 2 Presentation and why?
I am most proud of the content that I spoke about during my presentation, because when I first drafted my lesson plan I didn't do well. So me finding something I could present on was satisfying for me.
2. a. What assessment would you give yourself on your Lesson 2 Presentation (self-assessment)?
P
b. Explain why you deserve that grade using evidence from the Lesson 2 component contract.
I believe i met all the P requirements and presented well enough that interprets what I have learned so far in my project.

3. What worked for you in your Lesson 2?
The use of technology and the items I brought up with me definitely helped me with my project/presentation
4. What didn't work? If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your Lesson 2?
I would have thought of a better activity or make use of my time a little better by knowing my content a little better.
5. What do you think your answer #2 is going to be?
5. What do you think your answer #2 is going to be?
My second answer might be "The best way an athletic trainer can accurately diagnose and treat an athletes injury is by making a correct initial diagnosis."

Blog 12: Mentorship 10 Hours
1. Where are you doing your mentorship?
I'm doing my mentorship at Southlands Christian High School
2. Who is your contact?
Brittany Menchaca
909-912-2402
3. How many total hours have you done (total hours should be reflected in your mentorship log located on the right hand side of your blog like your WB)?
Total hours that I have complete have amounted to 10 hours. If my summer hours are to be included, which I completed with Jason Trinidad, I should have 22 hours.
4. Summarize the 10 hours of service you did.
The 10 hours of service I completed was me basically shadowing my mentor. She gave me advice rather than teaching me skills, because i'm going to be learning that on my own. She also gave me insight to what I should be on the look out for like certain schools to apply to, or what classes to take in college. She also shared different contacts that she has connections to that I can possibly interview in the future.

Blog 11: Holiday Project Update
Content:
1. It is important to consistently work on your senior project, whether it is break or we are in school. What did you do over the break with your senior project?
I believe it is not a top priority to consistently attend mentorship but working on my project frequently is a key due to the research required to learn about different injuries that relate to my topic. Over break I got caught up on my RC notes. I did not go to southlands over break because there was no school and no sports had practice, so i learned more about different injuries.
2. What was the most important thing you learned from what you did, and why? What was the source of what you learned?
I learned more about different types of injuries on and off the field, its useful to help diagnose and treat different injuries that I might encounter. I pulled this information from my mentor's Athletic Training book.
3. If you were going to do a 10 question interview on questions related to answers for your EQ, who would you talk to and why?
3. If you were going to do a 10 question interview on questions related to answers for your EQ, who would you talk to and why?
I would talk to the athletic trainer at Bassett High School or Mt. Sac due the their vast amounts of experience in their fields of work.
