Ice Ice Baby

So one day after football practice, my mentor and I stayed a bit later to help ice my teammate's injuries. Basically she taught me what the ice does for injury and how to apply the ice to the correct spot. The ice helps reduce the inflammation of the injury and increase the blood flow around the injured area. The increased blood flow helps in a quicker recovery because too much swelling around the injury inhibits the healing process. One of the key things she told me about icing is that you cannot ice for more than 20 minutes. The reason for that is too much blood flow can cause even more inflammation.

Blog 4: Interview Preparation

1.  Who do you plan to interview?  Why?
I have two interviewees in mind, the first is the current physical therapist at Southlands Christian (Victoria), and my second option would be the PT at my old high school, Bassett High School, (Jason) who helped me out while I was a freshman. I would want to interview Victoria because she is more available and I see her everyday because of football practice. Jason came to mind because he has a lot of experience in PT because he deal with injuries on the daily.
2.  You have to ask 5 questions.  What additional questions do you plan to ask?  Ask open-ended questions.
Some open-ended questions I would have for prepared for my interview would be:
1.What got you interested in Physical Therapy and why?
2. What kind of things have you experienced during your career?
3. Have you every gotten tired of your job? If so, why? If not, why not?

5. What is your senior project topic going to be?  How did what you did help you choose a topic?  Please explain.

My senior topic is going to be Physical Therapy, what I did consolidated my interest in the human body and how you can for the most part rehab injuries through a planned recovery.
